WHAT I DO
TELEVISION HAIR AND MAKE-UP ARTIST
I am a freelance make-up and hair artist and have for many years worked in live television news getting people camera ready at speed often at short notice. This type of work requires calm efficiency and professionalism and often involves working with high profile public figures. Examples of this type of work can be seen in my full C.V. and on the Experience page.
SKIN CAMOUFLAGE PRACTITIONER
Skin camouflage creams are medical pigmented creams applied to the skin to cover any skin condition which causes a person distress and or a reduction in confidence. This includes vitiligo, rosacea, port wine stains, melasma, scarring including self-harm scars and many other conditions. I provide consultations for clients of all genders and skin colours in which I test multiple products to find the best solution to cover the condition and suit the client's own lifestyle for example how often they may want to use the creams, how much time they would have to apply the products etc. I teach the client how to apply the products and advise where the products and any required application tools can be purchased. Skin camouflage consultations can be life-changing for clients as they can bring back a sense of control in someone's life if their appearance has changed suddenly because of an accident or diagnosis of a condition. I provide consultations in my home studio in Clapham, South West London and Harley Street, Central London. More information on my skin camouflage work can be found by clicking the logo link to my skin camouflage site below.
EXPERT WITNESS
If a client has an injury as a result of an accident or malpractice they may begin a claim against a company or individual if they are left with scarring or a change in their appearance. As part of the claim the client's solicitor will send the client to a number of experts such as a dermatologist, psychiatrist etc. I provide consultations in skin camouflage for the client assessing which products may help in covering or reducing the appearance of the scar. I then provide a full report for the court listing all products and tools which would be needed to cover the scar, the costs of these and an approximation of how often they would need to be purchased. The costs can then be added by the solicitor to the amount being claimed. I have 12 years experience in writing expert witness reports and have completed the Bond Solon course 'Excellence in Report Writing For Expert Witnesses' at Cardiff University. I am a member of the UK Registry of Expert Witnesses, the Xperta register of Expert Witnesses and The Expert Witness Institute. I am fully covered by insurance by Ntegrity Insurers.

GENDER MAKE-UP CONSULTANT
Most people are now aware of the term 'Transgender' but even as little as five years ago the awareness extended just to male to female transgenderism or female to male. That is a person who was assigned one gender at birth but later in life felt they were in fact the opposite gender 'in the wrong body'. Some people lived as the gender they felt they truly were and some progressed to surgery to help them feel their body matched the gender they felt they were.
Over the past few years awareness is thankfully progressing further and it is now more widely know that some feel their gender is fluid i.e. it can switch from male to female and back and some do not feel they are either male or female and are considered 'non-binary'.
At any stage in this process a consultation in make-up can help a person explore their gender identity and help with decisions in how they live their lives and how they feel about the person they see reflected in the mirror. It can especially be helpful in the early stages of a person questioning their assigned gender but also for those further into their journey to help them face the world as they truly want to. More information can be found at my transgender make-up website by clicking the logo link below.

If you or someone you know is feeling their gender is something which needs to be explored and talked about, the NHS website provides useful information here.
